About

JSS Photos LLC is the creation of John S. Sadowsky of Charlestown, MD.  I started out in photography in high school with a Yashika 35mm SLR and a darkroom under the stairs in my parents house.  Nonetheless, photography took a backseat in my life while I focused on my career in wireless signal processing and systems engineering.  The advent of digital photography, circa 2000, caused me to get back in the game.  I was working for Intel at the time, when they offered a Kodak 1 Mpix point-and-shoot as an employee benefit.  At the time the Kodak was really cool, but, of course, nothing close to the cameras in our phones today.

I had several digital cameras through the 2000s starting with a Sony 5 Mpix Cybershot (a breakthrough camera as it was the first consumer grade camera with decent glass, thanks to Sony's association with Zeiss, the highly esteemed German lens manufacturer.  That was followed by a Cannon DSLR, ... ho hum ...  Things got serious when I purchased a Nikon D700.

Since I lived in Arizona for ~25 years, I have lots of SW photos.  I've back-packed to the bottom of the Grand Canyon about (who's counting) eight times.  Southern Utah!  Colorado! - especially the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado.  I wrote a travel guide for southern Utah and southwest Colorado.

I specialize in landscape photography.  I have a catalog of over 50,000 images.
